NZ reaches 5 million people

May 21st 2020
The population took 44 years to jump from 1 million to 2 million people in New Zealand from

1908 to 1952.

Since then The number of people has increased from 2 million to 3 million in 21 years

(1952 to 1973), 3 million to 4 million to 30 years (1973 to 2003) And 4 million to this year March 2020 million in only 17 years (2003 to 2020).

The main reason for this is there has been more people being born than the amount of people dying over the years.

Migration also played a big part in the increase as more people came to live in New Zealand then left to live overseas.

Here are a few other countries with around 5 million people: Labia (5.057. Million), Costa Rica (5.094 million), Palestine (5.101. million), Oman (5.106 million) Norway (5.421 million)

USA (has about 331.002 million people). document
